Aquatics Programs

 

ADAPTIVE AQUATICS:

This program offers the opportunity for the special population of the local area to participate in a one-on-one recreational aquatic exercise program. The Adaptive Aquatics Program is designed to help our participants improve their fitness level using the buoyancy of the water. Water exercising enables an increase in flexibility, coordination, strength, range of motion, and balance, which on land may be difficult or impossible. This program has the ability to build our participants’ self-esteem, confidence, social skills, and overall quality of life. Times and days are flexible.

Cost:

YMCA Members:                   $30.00 per 30 minute class

 $60.00 per 60 minute class

 

Non-Members:                     $35.00 per 30 minute class

                                                $70.00 per 60 minute class

Classes are held Monday– Friday by appointment only with an assigned instructor.

Class Descriptions

Water Extreme:a high intensity total body aerobic program featuring an ideal way to work outfor all ages.

Cardio Interval:high intensity fat burner work out for all levels. Bouts of harder work withbouts of easier work, in which requires the body to burn extra calories.

Yoga H20: Mind-bodyfitness. Combines body movement with mental focus and controlled breathing toimprove strength, balance, flexibility, and overall health. Plus Tai-Chi. 

Arthritis:Is designed for people with arthritis or severe joint conditions. It decreasespain, increases range of motion, flexibility, and muscle strength.

Aqua Zumba:Pool Party! Cardio-conditioning & body-toning workout that involves,stretching, splashing, and twisting.

Aero Dance:cardio work focused on movements in Aerobics & Latin Dance. Low impact& high intensity with the purpose to burn calories & get in goodphysical condition. Focus on strength, coordination, balance, & rhythm.

Water Pilates: Resistanceexercise using the water to tone & develop the core muscles. Helping tobuild a stronger body & good posture.

            Aqua Lite:Low intensity exercise program recommended for beginners, pre- & post-natalwomen, & especially seniors.
