Lights, Camera, Action Gala set for Nov. 2

James J. Buquet, Jr. Bayouland YMCA will be hosting our 1st Annual Lights, Camera, AUCTION! Gala on Thursday, November 2, 2017.

This years’ fundraiser is to help pay off the debt of our basketball gymnasium. The night will be filled with good food, good music and good fellowship.

Our night will begin at 6pm with free cocktails and hors d’oeuvre served till 7pm. We have planned a silent auction as well a live auction with Bobby Arceneaux hosting. The silent auction will be held from 7pm till 9:30pm, and our live auction from 9pm through 10pm. All items will be on display for your review. Dinner will be served at 7pm and through the night we will have entertainment and dance music by Howard Nixon Ensemble.

Our arrangements are tables that seat 8 for $320.00 or individuals may purchase tickets at $40 per person. We all hope that you are able to join us for an event filled evening. Attire is semi-formal.

Babysitting Course to be December 29

The YMCA babysitter course is a one day class for youth ages 11-17. They will receive information and learn skills necessary to provide responsible care for children in the absence of their parents or guardians. This training will help participants learn skills for providing basic care, safe play, and first aid while developing leadership and professionalism. Basic CPR skills will be taught using American Heart Association materials. The class will be held from 11 am until 4 pm at the Bayouland YMCA.

YMCA Fall Swimming Lessons

Fall swimming lessons are Oct. 2-26, Monday-Wednesday and Tuesday-Thursday.

Private Swimming Lessons - Eight 30-minute lessons with one-on-one instruction. Learn stroke technique and proper form in the water. Members $80.00, Non-Members $100.00.

Semi-Private Swimming Lessons - Consist of eight 45-minute lessons composed of 2-4 children per instructor. Members $65.00, Non-Members $85.00.

Book a birthday pool party now

Now is the perfect time to book a birthday pool party at Bayouland YMCA. A party consists of a 2 ½ hour celebration. You have a choice of having your party on the pool deck or on the sun deck. The sun deck will lead you to the outdoor playground. Parties are designed for up to 25 guests and are held during YMCA operating hours on Saturday and Sundays. Cost is $150 for members or $200 for non-members.
